Luiz Carlos Trabuco is the CEO of one of the largest banks in Brazil, Bradesco. He started working at the company as a clerk, when he was just 17-years-old. Since then, he has climbed the ranks and within the last year he was made the new president of the bank. Read more about Trabuco at globo.com.
One of the positions Trabuco has held at Bradesco, during his 15+ years there, director of marketing. While he was the director, Bradesco’s communication improved and a closer relationship between the bank and the media developed. This was just one of the many things he has done for the company.
For over 8 years, Trabuco ran the marketing department. In 1992, he was appointed the CEO of a private pension fund, called Bradesco Vida e Previdência. He remained in the position for six years before he was chosen as the bank’s managing director.
While Trabuco was president of Bradesco Seguros, it doubled in size and managed to capture a massive amount of the market. In fact, it grabbed approximately 25% of it.
In 2015, the businessman spearheaded the acquisition of HSBC in Brazil. This was the largest of its kind in the company’s history. This transaction was one of the reasons Trabuco was chosen as the entrepreneur of the year in a major publication.
Becoming The President Of The Bank
The businessman explained that he wasn’t actually thinking about becoming the president, but he was chosen. The process to choose a new president took months, but eventually the board agreed to appoint Luiz.
A few months ago, Luiz said one of his goals were to renew the legacy that the previous CEO left behind.
