Neurocore Uses Neurofeedback and Biofeedback Therapies

According to the American Psychiatric Association (APA) around five percent of children suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Jackson Pojeski is one of those children with the disorder. He was officially diagnosed with ADHD at the age of eight. The young boy had trouble focusing, sleeping, and other mental issues. He would frequently throw temper tantrums over the smallest of problems. His mother became very frustrated at the fact that she felt helpless in the situation. She didn’t know how to give her son the help he needed. Learn more about Neurocore at Crunchbase.

How Neurocore Intervened

Ms. Pojeski said that the diagnosis came as no surprise because her son had been having behavioral problems for years. Jackson would have so much trouble falling asleep that she resorted to giving him melatonin to help him sleep at night. She says it was like his mind was constantly racing with no pit stops. Desperate, she turned to Neurocore which gave Jackson regular treatment sessions. At the end he had completed 40 sessions with great results. Ms. Pojeski said for the first time ever he had a stable mood. She is very thankful that Neurocore was able to help Jackson.

Many children that Neurocore treats suffer from ADHD. In fact, Neurocore founder Dr. Tim Royer says it is one of the most common diagnoses among children. Despite common medical knowledge that the disorder responds best to a combination of medication and behavioral therapy most doctors only prescribe medication. Neurocore is looking to change this. It often uses Neurofeedback, a type of biofeedback that uses real-time displays of brain activity, to treat disorders like ADHD. Neurofeedback has been around for multiple decades and is a proven therapy. After receiving the therapy many children no longer need medication.

An Effective Solution

In Jackson’s case Neurocore used both neurofeedback and biofeedback therapies. One of the key things Jackson learned from his sessions was breath control so he’d be able to effectively calm his brain activity. It took many sessions to achieve this because training a person’s brain doesn’t happen overnight.

Dr. Tim Royer is confident that Neurocore can improve people’s lives if they stick with the treatment plan given to them. Patients who follow the recommended treatment plan experience longer lasting results. Though treatment plans may vary from patient to patient they are based on proven statistics.
